Crafting Unique Custom Metal Art Pieces

Scupltor/welder, mike peery, is a Utah native working out of his studio. At 5 years old after watching a welder work on a bus, peery took to the craft and became a welder by trade. He welded together pieces of his imagination out of scrap metal, car and bicycle parts, fencing, and other bits of machinery. Peery creates his ornamental characters and pieces some adjusting to 8 feet tall. often metal giants that stand over eight feet tall. One being St. Francis of Assisi guarding day and night constructed from pencil rod, weighing over 1400 pounds. Other realistic works Peery has made such as a scaled down Harley Davidson motorcycles, stacked trains, a helicopter complete with a spinning propeller, rockets, a giant dog, appeals to collectors who appreciate the rugged raw, machine look of Peery's work which sometimes have the expression of creatures in motion, most of his work is in private collections around the world. Now after 35 years Mike struggles to weld because of his eyes, he crashed in a motorcycle accident losing one of his legs leaving him unable to work anymore. Although his age as well as his health, he is now designing modern train artwork as well as other pieces to come like merchandise such as coffee cups, T shirts, and metal artworks.
